What does kombucha taste like?
Zippy. Fizzy. Tart. Sour. There are so many ways to describe this delicious drink! Kombucha is naturally sour from the fermentation process, so it’s definitely an acquired taste. (The more you drink it, the more you’ll love it!) We set out to make our kombucha enjoyable for everybody, so it’s slightly tart, slightly sweet and lightly carbonated. We’re proud of our mild and totally drinkable flavor.
Is your kombucha pasteurized?
No. Bootleg Bucha is a 100% raw kombucha, that means it is never pasteurized. Our kombucha is made with live cultures (a.k.a. beneficial bacteria) that help to boost your body’s natural gut flora.
What’s in your kombucha?
All of our kombucha flavors are made with purified water, organic black and green tea, fair trade organic cane sugar and our SCOBY. Then, each variety is flavored individually with organic juices and herbs. Through our natural fermentation process, our kombucha flavors deliver antioxidants, probiotics and vitamin B12.
What are the benefits of drinking kombucha?
What is SCOBY?
SCOBY (Symbiotic Colony of Bacteria and Yeast) is used to refer to the mixed cultures of bacteria and yeast present during the production of kombucha. It’s the living cultures that transform our organic teas into tangy, fizzy kombucha.

We offer 12 kombucha flavors, with six delicious options available all year long: Blueberry Lavender, Cranberry Grape, Ginger, Hibiscus Lime, Pomegranate and Tart Cherry Mint. Are you certified organic?
Is there alcohol in your kombucha?
We are proud to be one of only a handful of kombucha manufacturers in the country to utilize spinning cone technology to extract alcohol from our product during the kombucha-making process. The result is a non-alcoholic kombucha containing under 0.50% alcohol (the same as an NA beer).
